Any info on this?

Not having a problem with NIS. However, I received an email (see below) and I doubt its veracity. I'd like to find out what it's all about but don't know where to check. Just the wording is an alarm. But I'm curious.

I did a Norton Safe Search on the email address and there is a David Durn who is a Solicitor in England. I also did a search on the sender Ellen Ales and there is an Ellen Ales who was involved in a DOJ lawsuit back in 2013.

Does anyone have any ideas on where to check this out? If this is not legitimate, whom would I report it to?

I hope this email finds you well I am Mrs. Jacqueline Mars do not be bothered as to why you have been contacted your for this and its genuine, as it has been authenticated from a pure motive. I write you in regards to the donation I intend to make you a beneficiary. I intend to cede it out for your benefit and others around your community. I already inform my attorney and I will want you to get in touch with him for further details and directives that you will need to follow. Kindly write him on email (xxxxx.xxxx@hotmail.com).

You are most welcome!!

Thanks for your replies = SoulAsylum and SendOfJive.

I had no intention of opening it or clicking on any link. The English is what sent the red flag up as well as the "donation". I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I'm not a butter knife either.

I think I might send a warning to my email contacts and maybe post a warning on Face Book. I have a few that would be stupid enough to fall for it.

Again, Thanks for your help.

For being the American heiress to the Mars Candy fortune, her English is surprisingly bad.  Never trust an email authenticated from a pure motive.

Scam. Delete the message @boongsong. The email address is Department Of Labor, I don't think anyone there would be wanting to make a donation to anyone.
