There's a thread describing this issue in detail (here) but no solution has surfaced yet. I'm just wondering if there are any users out there who may have stumbled upon a solution to this; I'd really appreciate it.
I'm so out of ideas right now that it's getting frustrating. I already had two support tickets, one with my ISP and the other with MSFT, both of them suggested I uninstall NIS2009 which actually solves the problem but I happen to like NIS2009 a lot and want to keep using it.
I installed the trial versions of AVG Internet Security (8.5) and ESET Smart Security 4 just to see if other security suites have the same issue but neither caused the problem that NIS2009 has done with Outlook 2007 (error code 0x80042108).
For what it's worth, I'm using Windows Vista 32bit SP1 and the NIS2009 version was 16.2. The exact error code is 0x80042108 and it's related to retrieving email from the server (sending seems to be OK).
Any help on this is much appreciated.
