Every time I un-install Norton 360 my PC works like a speed demon and I love it. Start up takes about 1 minute and surfing is in a click!. But I don't like surfing this way because we all know what can happen. Once Norton is installed it can take up to five minutes or more to start up and surf the web. What can I do to speed up my PC with Norton 360. Please don't tell me it's other related, (I know it's Norton that slows my PC to a snails pace it does it to all of my computers). My RAM is 2.00 GB's on the HTPC that I keep Norton on 24/7. Is there anything I can do to set up Norton to stop hogging up my processor?

Nope. It's only Norton that drains it down. I guess Norton 360 is just a hog. Yeah I'm still running XP/SP3 Home Edition. Once MS drops XP I'm no longer buying anything MS. I'm Going straight to MAC. I don't like 7, and there was no need for change, (MS started this trend to throw away rather then maintain with Millinium Edition, (junk)...did well with Windows 2000, (threw that under a bus), then started XP, (next in line to be thrown under a bus),...tried with Vista, (junk) now it's 7? I had enough of that mentality. My generation lived by if it aint broke...ect... Probably won't need a system hog like Norton either. Thanks for your help.
window 7 is not junk window 7 is one of the best window evere made i ues window 7 evere day and love it vary marh its a lot better then window vista in fac if the new window 8 is going too be a epic fail window 7 will likey turn in too other window XP has many window 7 user will not move too window 8 when it comes out all so window 7 is a lot cleener then window vista was

Never said Windows 7 is junk. I just said I [ersonally don't like it. Hopefully once 7 has all the drivers retro and future and all the bugs out of it, a PC may compete with a MAC.
lol
window 7 dos not have any bugs window 7 is up too SP 1 and trust me all the bugs well work out by now

Sorry I couldn't do better. I'm not a big fan of the MS model but it appears to have the market share necessary to be the dictator of how we will compute.
There are Norton products for the MAC and ther are also fewer threats to guard against. I live/work in a MS world so I'm going to stay with it until one of us has to retire. [my guess being I'll go before they do]

As one who plans on getting a new Windows 7 machine as soon as $$$ allows, I'll have to say I've never heard of any software being bug free. That being said, I will be looking forward to the new system
