Issue abstract: I cannot stop Norton 360 reporting an App that I trust as MALWARE
Detailed description: I have run an app called Forward SMS for several years and it has been a great help to forward SMS messages from the “initial” phone number (to which the SMS was sent) to another number. This saves carrying multiple handsets and allows my home country SIM to stay in my home country (the UK) in an older handset when travelling for an extended period. This allows me to receive SMS verification messages from companies without messing about with what is (to them) my contact phone number.
In the last few months Norton 360 on my Android handset identifies the app as Malware. Despite searching the internet, I cannot find a way to stop Norton identifying an app as Malware. The only option available is to have it identified repeatedly as Malware or to Uninstall it - which I do not want to do. Various posts speak of making changes to the Firewall settings in the app - which doesn’t actually exisit in the current Norton 360 Android app.
I can (and have done) highlight the app back to Norton as a false positive but (not surprisingly) no response.
Tha app is still live on Google Play with good reviews and 100,000+ downloads AND is shown as SAFE (by Norton) in the Play Store.
Question - is there ANY way (apart from uninstalling) that Norton 360 on Android can be set to ignore a specific app in the Malware scan?
Product & version number: Norton 360 on Android 5.92.2.2408.29125
OS details: Android 13
What is the error message you are seeing? Scan Complete. Malware Found
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them: I have tried several times to upload PNG or JPG files of the Play Store and Norton Malware screens but only receive error reports - sorry.
If anyone has a useful suggestion it would be much appreciated.
can you make a submission? https://submit.norton.com/
No, I guess not.

fwiw ~ as test: installed Forward SMS - Android 10
Norton scan was quiet.
Caveat: I’m neither familiar with Forward SMS nor using Forward SMS as intended.
Thanks for trying to help. Not made a formal submission via the route you suggested. I had a quick look at PostImages.org but to be honest, I have no idea how to associate a couple of images with the specific question that I have posted in the community.
Your later message about Forward SMS is what I used to see - nothing identified as Malware.
Today for me, the Malware message appears as a notification immediately that I switch the phone on on the home / lock screen. It is then visible when I open the Norton app on the phone as a warning in the Security scan section.
I am running Android 13 (which may result in the issue) rather than your Android 10
I will check back here in due course for anything further. Thank you,Frank
fwiw ~ as test: installed Forward SMS + restart + Scan
Norton scan was quiet.

I really have nothing to add to what bjm_ has posted about reporting the app as a false positive. There does not seem to be a specific way to add an android app. So use the option to report a false positive URL. Use the URL of the page from Google Play Store for that app, and explain that in the description section.
There is no way to do anything from within the mobile 360 app.
Thank you both for your input. I decided to employ the “nuclear” option and uninstalled the specific app from the phone. Powered it down, restarted and re-installed the app. I set up the app, got it working and now good old Norton does NOT identify it as Malware.
If anyone can explain that then good luck (apart from the obvious “that’s what sometimes happens”).
So, MY problem has gone away for the moment. I will see if it returns at which point I will employ this option again and just keep doing that if required.
The only thing I can suggest is that there may have been an update to the Forward SMS app that did not complete correctly, and Norton started flagging it.
