Hi everyone
I’m having a problem with Norton App lock. I installed on Xiaomi t11 pro and chose to lock a few apps with a pattern. Problem is that it never prompts the pattern window and apps are not locked.
Any idea how I can make it work
Thanks

No idea why Norton has issues.
I have asked for help. Let's see if anything comes from that.
Me neither, I don't do it unless it is absolutely necessary. I think it is a general incompatibility with Chinese phones for some reason as I see many people having the same issue with other Chinese brands. But the question is why Norton only? other security programmes seem to work well.
I have never liked the idea of rooting. It reduces the built in protections in the Android OS.
It does sound like some incompatibility with the Xiaomi device. There have been issues with some Chinese devices.
I'll try to get another set of eyes on this thread to see if there is anything we have missed.
The Xiaomi security is a cor app that cannot be disabled/deleted. Maybe if I root the device I can remove it (Xiaomi gives total freedom for users to root their devices and doesn't void the warranty). You think it is worth trying ?
It is a Xiaomi's own protection software. I haven't looked at disabling it. I will try and let you know but this is really a bizarre situation.
What built in protection software is on the device? Have you tried disabling it?
In my other phone (Samsung Note 8) Norton 360 does periodic autoscans and it scans all apps in Google play store to check if they are safe or not, check malicious links automatically. It doesn't do any of that in Xiaomi T11. I am starting to suspect that the built-in protection software is disabling Norton or something like that but I really don't know.
What issues are you seeing with your 360 app?
Hello again Peter. The issue keeps repeating itself and I have noticed what seems to be a general incompatibility of Norton 360 and its related programs with Xiaomi T11 pro device. I have noticed that I have to go back to the settings and disable then enable full screen mode of app lock then allow accessibility to get it to work. Only to find out that it works once then never works again until I do the same cycle. I also noticed that Norton clean isn’t working at all. Everytime I do a scan it only finds kilobytes of junk data, the built-in file cleaner finds gigabytes. Moreover, Norton 360 does not autoscan and does not check links and files automatically. I have literally exhausted every option in the settings trying to get it to work but nothing changed. I allowed all permissions, allowed app to be always on top, ran the apps in unrestricted mode to bypass the battery saver software, re-installed all the apps and nothing changed. I really think this issue needs to get to Norton and they should look at it more closely as it seems another person was having similar issue with another Xiaomi device (T9 I believe).
Many thanks
You are welcome.
Good detective work. There can be so many things that all have to line up to get the desired result.
Ok Ive finally got it to work. I enabled sull screen mode. Then I allowed Norton app lock in the accessibility menu. Now it works fine.
Many thanks Peter
Hi Peter
It is android 12 I don’t have that option under the advanced menu. I only got
Full screen mode
Blur app previews
Install apps from unknown sources
Clear defaults
When I enabled full screen mode. I suddenly started getting a message from Norton lock to enable accessability

What Android version is on your device?
On my tablet using Android 9, I have to scroll down a little on the app information page to see additional settings, including the Appear on Top setting. Look for an Advanced section of the App page.
What do you see if you tap on the Other Permissions settings in your image?
I can't find that option. Please see the the list of options in the screenshot
Look in Android Settings > Apps and look for Norton App Lock. Tap on that and then look for an Appear on Top option. Allow that and test.
Hi Peter
Thanks for your response. I’ve just tried that and nothing happened. I’m starting to think that there may an issue with permissions. Is there a required permission for the app to work.
Cheers
As a test, see it it works correctly using a PIN.
