Are Norton licenses issued by hard drive or by computer?

I've used Norton for a number of years, and had to add a (new computer) license recently.  When the old computer stopped working, it was determined that the old drive still worked, so the old drive was moved to the new computer as an "extra" permanent drive (at least for the time being).  The old computer, however, still shows up as a used (but inactive?) license on my Norton account.

I just want to be sure:  Is the new license covering both drives on the new computer?  If so, can I eliminate the old computer license without creating any issues?

Also, the subscription shows I have an additional license in use, but it is not represented on my account screen by any device.  Does the Norton Screen Care count as a license?  If not, how do I determine what the additional license is for?

Thanks for any help.

Moving a system hard drive into another computer as an additional storage device does not activate Norton on the new computer. You seem to have already found that installing on the new computer raised your activation number by one. That is expected.

So yes. If you are no longer using the older computer, you can delete the old computer you removed from your Norton Account under My Subscriptions > Manage Licenses. That will free up that activation for a future need.
