Ask Marian's Top Asked Question: How Do I Download My Product to Another Computer?

If you own one of the Norton products that includes a 3 user license and you purchased via a download, you may be stuck trying to figure out how to add the product to another computer. It's certainly the number one question I get at my Marian@norton.com email address. I'm happy to tell you there is an easy way to do this, even if you don't consider yourself to be tech savvy.

A 3 user license means you can install the same product (Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, Norton Utilities) on up to three computers in the same family/home. (I think we can include your child at college in this formula.) It's great to know that you can synchronize the subscription on the family computers in this way too.

Upgrader's Advice: now, imagine you read this and think, "oh, but I own Norton AntiVirus which only includes a single license." Consider this, if you upgrade to Norton Internet Security instead of renewing your Norton AntiVirus, you'll only spend approximately $10 more. And this will allow you to have a license good for another two computers! It's a great, economical way to dramatically increase your level of online protection for the whole family at a very low cost.

Here's a link to a wonderful article in our Support area with details and step by step instructions on downloading your product to another computer. But let me summarize for you here:

1.       You'll need your product key, a long string of numbers and letters. You can find this by visiting www.mynortonaccount.com and logging in. Or you'll find it on your Symantec Store receipt (in your email.)

2.       Download and install the trialware version of your software to the new computer.

3.       Use the product key to unlock the trialware version and convert it to full product. Now all your family computers are sharing the product subscription.

Hope this was helpful!
