I have posted this in the middle of one thread about the At Risk issue, but so it can be noticed hope you don't mind me posting a fresh thread ;)

I was wondering could those users who still have this At Risk issue in My Network would do the following check:

Open Norton 360, click on PC Tuneup section and at the bottom choose Run Diagnostic Report, it is very quick so don't worry about it being ages to run.

In the finished report that opens, the first few details are about the Norton product and its status;

can you tell me if the PC Tuneup status is reported as Disabled .... even though on the main interface it is green/protected. ??

I have discovered that at least three people have this showing who have the At Risk alert in My Network and I think perhaps the two are probably linked given the fact a scan associated to pc tuneup did at one point fix my problem, but after a reboot the at risk error returned.

Something for them to look into if we do indeed all see this disabled status.

......and, are we really protected given that we see this section as Disabled ??

Hello again Scott ..... ;)

the staff on here have said that Symantec are working on it so at least we know its a problem that is being acknowledged,

I think the call centre techs and online support techs should be kept up to date a bit quicker ...... you could have been told from the off that is was something they were aware of and working on.

Imagine had you gone through all that you had been advised, about the manually clean your registry and uninstalling everything !!

Only to find out it is something caused by an update!! :smileysurprised:

C'mon symantec , keep the support staff updated and quickly

**Just to confirm for others, Scott has the same At Risk issue and also sees PC tuneup as disabled in the Diagnostic Report, even though everywhere else is green/protected

Yeah, they def are not on top of everything. Throughout the years whenever i’ve called for a certain particular reason they always have me doing things that I just know are wrong but I never say anything because I respect the time and work they put in, atleast whenever i’ve called i’ve always gotten someone very friendly who will try and do many different things to fix the problem even though they never usually do. I’m def glad I bumped into this website because you guys are ontop of everything over here, prompt, friendly and know what the heck you’re talking about haha. Good stuff…

I also help out on the Vnunet forums (hope they don't mind me posting a link to another website, but if ever you have problems not related to Norton come on over, user name there is anne r):   :smileywink:

I was getting a x and 'At Risk' in Network Security map until yesterday when the I got 'Secure' and a tick.

I ran the diagnostic report and it reported that PC Tuneup was disabled even though on the main window is says 'Protected' with a tick.Network Map is still green.

Do you have to have all the elements in PC Tuneup active for it to show correctly in the diaagnostic report?

Hi Rob,

we were wondering that but one of the users on here tested it out, had everything checked and ran the scans etc but the report still showed PC Tuneup as Disabled;

I found out how to get the tick and 'Secure' on the Network Map on my PC.It seems to be connected to intrusion protection

For about the last 4 days everytime I reboot PC Security says Intrusion Protection is off (even though it was ON before the reboot). So I press Fix and everything is green in PC Security but I look on Network Map  and I have x and 'At Risk' displayed. Now if I then deliberately disable Intrusion protection and then press Fix again when I return to Network Map I have the tick and 'Secure' showing.

Can somone else try this on their machine?

Rob, yes it does make the at risk go and return us to green/protected.......... however, once a reboot is done the At Risk is back ... try it.

I have had the green tick return several times now but next bootup sees it return to At Risk :(

But then disable intrusion protection then re enable it and green/Secure is back on Network map. It’s worked for me everytime

I see where you're coming from Rob but we shouldn't have to do that ........ and didn't have to do that before this update so something is not quite right.

It is however a temporary workaround to have the green/protected reported in My Network, so thanks for posting that!

I have read your msgs in this thread and your most recent posting in another. I hold a different view to you. I do not expect threads in a beta forum, even when hosted by a developer of end user software, to be necessarily answered only by employees of the developer. Rather I see the forum as a community participation. Nevertheless, it is clear that employees do drop in and are reasonably active in various threads and private messages.

The answer to your question is that Symantec are well aware of the error in the Diagnostic Report. However, it is considered at this time to be only cosmetic. That is, the report in this aspect may be incorrect and users can effectively ignore this status of PC Tuneup in the diagnostic report, providing of course that there is a green tick against PC Tuneup in the Norton 360 Main Windows. If there is a green tick against PC Tuneup you are being protected in respect of the PC Tuneup tasks.

It is considered that there must be a simple issue in the program.

However, I know that Symantec are working on a couple of more important issues at this time and this particular issue may not be the highest priority.

Let me know if you do not think that you have now been answered.

Hi cgoldman,

thanks for taking the time to reply. I too do not expect threads on these forums to be answered ONLY by employees, I am aware of how the forums work and that they are a "community"  where other users can help one another.

However, Like you say, it is clear that employees post on these forums too, so I don't think it unreasonable of me to have hoped I would get some sort of response, statement etc to acknowledge the problem and its connection perhaps to the "At Risk" alert in the My Network section of 360 version 2.

You say it is considered there is a "simple issue in the program"

It cannot be so simple as to still not be rectified ......... and Norton having more serious or important issues to deal with at present, making these problems appear unimportant or not of priority at present  does not give us users a good impression.

Anyway, again, thanks for your reply ........ I just hope there is to be an update/patch on these problems ASAP.

While it is unfortunate that your specific message in this thread did not get a reply from a Norton Staffer there is much more staff presence now than there was a month ago and I see the topic being dealt with at length in other threads.

So I don't think it has escaped their notice.

Thanks huwyngr :smileywink:

You never said whether you were scouse or not <g>

Sorry, I didn't see where you asked me this ?

yes is the answer anyway :smileyhappy:

Well, tech wasn’t any help. Had me download the intelligent updater but that did not work either so he said basically when they have some type of patch thats when it will be fixed obviously. None of the 3 techs when I called today had heard of this problem so hopefully they will try and go about fixing this up when possible.
