I've been searching the Norton forums trying to get rid of a virus on my little brother's computer. My own computer skills/knowledge are limited (ie. I'm not even sure what a rootkit is).
I think that his computer has the same problem that you have been able to help other posters fix. The symptoms include: 1) Being re-directed to unrelated sites when clicking on Google search results, 2) Unable to access Microsoft Update, 3) Unable to run Malwarebytes, even after re-naming the file. I think it may be associated with files including the name "gxvxc".
Would you be able to help me? Just tell me what other information you need.
I'd really appreciate your help.
