Starting today I am getting dozens of FireFox notifications that say Trojans detected, McAfee expired (which i haven’t had in 30 years) threat detected, etc. I run a Norton scan and it says it found nothing. Then the false notifications show again and again. They say from FireFox via webadvisor.co.in. I go into Windows settings apps and it doesn’t show McAfee Webadvisor app that I could remove.
At another screen Norton shows that it blocked something that was a threat. When I click on details Norton won’t let you take a screen shot of the error message so I can’t send it here or any where else to find a solution. I notice this with other Norton error message. Why don’t they want to use that information to solve the problem?
Anyone know how to get rid of this new Webadvisor spam issue?

It sounds like you have run up against some malformed ads on a site you are visiting. First thing is to run a full system scan with your Norton 360. Then download and run the free version of Malwarebytes that looks for some things Norton does not check for.
Going forward you can install an ad blocker extension in your browser(s).
I used to use MalwareBytes for a long time along side Norton. A year or so ago MalwareBytes stopped working. I can download a new copy of Malwarebytes and it will install but then won’t open. One of the local computer guys said you can’t run MalwareBytes with Norton. It worked in the past for me so I would like to use MalwareBytes but it won’t load.
By the way, my original problem in this thread about webadvisor notifications taking over my machine went away after 2-3 day but I don’t know why.
I’ve always used the free version. Since the problem started I downloaded it all over again. It installs but will not launch. attached is the error message I get.

It solved the Malewarebytes launching problem.
When this started a couple of years ago I went to the community sites for Norton and MaleWarebytes but didn’t get any answers that worked.
