I'm sorry to hear about the problem you've encountered with Auto-Protect. I have a few clarifying questions to ask to help us figure out the best next step.

  1. What version of Norton Internet Security are you using? (build information is available at Help & Support / About)
  2. What is the exact text of the error message that you are receiving?
  3. What does the Error Log say. to access this information, try the following steps:
    1. Click the Norton Internet Security tab
    2. Open the Reports and Statistics section
    3. Click "View Activity Log"
    4. At the bottom will be an Error Messages section
  4. Have you tried running through One Click Support? From the Help & Support section, click Start Support Session. This will run you through the AutoFix portion and may resolve the issue for you.

Hi theregot norton internet security 2012 and the Auto-Protect keeps turning itself off  need help running it on windows xp and vista but  so far the problem is only with xp
