Auto shutdown following full system scan?

I’m sorry. That’s not possible indeed. Probably because you need to make decisions on the malware found

I'm not convinced by your "probably".

If the system were shut down, then any discovered malware would not be posing a threat, would it?

Why not be asked about possible actions following a scan upon start-up?

Or have a default setting where any normal malware found is 'fixed' as usual?

A simple 'auto shutdown' feature would certainly be convenient for my use, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I agree; that would be handy.  In future Versions of N.I.S., e.g. 2010, symantec could not make you click "Finish" because, as it stands just now, High-Risk and Medium-Risk Threats are Deleted Automatically.  If you have Low-Risk items to "Automatically Remove", then there should be a system like this.

However, if Norton Full System Scan was un-able to Remove a Threat, then i think that is the reason why symantec chose not to have any options like this because, if they did, then the Threat would still be on the computer, although it would not be able to spread.
