Having wasted time on the site going round in circles, unable to email without a product code and knowing that a phone call will take hours I do not have, I am trying this forum in the hope that a real Norton person will respond..
On 30 June 2011, my credit card was debited AUD119.99 as automatic renewal. When I logged into my Norton account, it did not show that I had any product installed and that my credit card number had expired last October. I did not want to put in the updated Credit Card details in case I was debited again. I have not used a Norton product for several years so I have paid renewal on something I do not have, and cannot afford to throw money away.
The circuitous trip around the webite under Automatic Renewals eventually indicated that I should download NIS 2011, which was successful. I was happy to see something for my money. However it turns out to be only a trial version, which was not indicated at the time of downloading, and in 15 days time I will need to pay again.
Clearly I am not happy about this situation and require a full refund of the $119.99 so that I can make independent arrangements to protect my computer. The inability to contact anyone easily about any problem is the reason I will not be continuing with Norton. If someone responds in an official capacity I am happy to give the reference nimber for the 30 June deduction and when the refund occurs, wipe the NIS 2011 trial version and install protection of my choice. Please do not respond with generalities and platitudes - I need a specific answer th this problem. Thank you.
