I purchased a subscription for Norton and have the product code. I paid for it. Why do I need to provide a credit card on my account when I do not want automatic renewal? I thought this was a simple question to answer; however, the chat I had with a representative turned out to be not so simple. Apparently you cannot activate an already purchased product code unless you provide credit card information to Norton. This seems ridiculous to me, especially when I do not want automatic renewal. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know a way to not submit credit card information?
This has been discussed many, many times in the forums. No one likes this new process Norton is pushing on all users. You can always turn off the automatic renewal and remove your payment information after you activate the product. Not ideal.
The only thing you can try if you already have an active Norton subscription is to contact Norton Support and ask them to add the time from the new product key to the existing subscription. www.norton.com/contactcs
