I'm confused by the automatic task scheduling as to when they are suppose to start/run. Under Settings > Tasks Scheduling, I've selected all checkboxes except backup (which I currently don't use) and allowed the computer to sit idle for 30 minutes (no applications are running). Check the logs afterwards and find that no new tasks were listed in the CPU Usage activity log (except for maybe an Automatic Live Update). This is occurring on 2 different computers (one is Win XP and the other is Vista). Norton 360 v3.5.2.11 is installed on both systems.
Why aren't these auto tasks starting (deleting Win registry files and Internet history) when the idle time is reached?
Version 3 of Norton 360 has the same timing option. Mine is set to Automatic. I thought about changing it to weekly, but I would prefer Norton to run these tasks whenever the system is idle more than 10 minutes, as set under the Administrative Settings.
Some tasks should be running during idle time. If you are getting automatic Liveupdate, it would indicate that your program is working properly. I am not familiar with the scheduling set up using the automatic setting, as I use weekly. That time period only indicates how often a full system idle time scan will run.
Some of the registry cleaning may be tied to the full system scan. You may have to decrease your idle time wait period if your task delay setting is also adding to the wait time.
