I just read the av-comparatives.org test of Symantec AV for Feb. 2011. It turns out that Symantec dropped from ADVANCED+ ranking to ADVANCED (sans plus). It's detection rates have gone down from ~98% back in August to 95.5%. The highest detection rate was a 99.8% from G DATA (albeit with high numbers of false-positives). It has been beaten by MSE with 95.8%, McAfee with 96.8% and many others. Yes, I have that kind of time on my hands to read these things. Symantec was ranked #12 out of 20 tested products. Any thoughts and discussions?
