Back up does not include email folders and address books

Hi,

My old PC was on its way out so I made a back up via Norton 360. The old beast was running on Windows XP, unfortunately a OEM version, I did not realise. I rebuild the PC, new motherboard etc and installed Windows 7.

Then restored all files from my Norton 360 back up and so far I have retrieved all Documents, Pictures and Favourites for Internet Explorer.

What seems te have disappeared is our email folders AND address books. No trace of what we had in Windows Outlook. That was a Office 2003 version on the old PC, now we are using Office 2007. Still, it seems that Norton 360 did not save our Outlook folders nor address books.

Anyone with a solution how to retrieve our Outlook folders/address books, now is your change!

And thank you in advance!

Cha,

Willem

Outlook uses a file with the extention .pst

The locations are different between the 2 operating systems, that may be why it did not restore.

For XP the default location is:

C:\Documents and Settings\"UserName"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\something.pst

"UserName" would be the name of the user account.

Go through the Norton Backup Drive in "Computer" and see if you can browse to that old location and find it.

If you had email selected in the 360 backup it should be there.

edit- If you find it, restore the file to another location like your desktop and then "import" it into your newer version of outlook.
