Back Up on External Hard Drive

New here to the community. My concern is I bought a 1TB Western Electric external Hard Drive, I got the latest Norton 360 software and did my back up to the external HD, it was very easy. I then noticed on my computer that some files were not identified as being backed up at all. I think it shows a little green check mark by the file (at least on jpg and photo files anyway) Im wondering why some of the files did not have the little check mark by them? and how can I know for sure my files are backed up. Or... should I just skip the Norton back up process and do it though the computer c-drive/properties/backup.

Not all file extensions or types are backed up by N360.  You can configure backups to pick up the ones it does have a default for.
