When I’m not logged in, backup to local drive never completes, just starts. Task manager shows 0 activity. When I’m logged in, I get a spinning wheel on Cloud Backup. I’ve run LiveUpdate.
How do I fix this problem?

How do I fix this problem?
are you new to v24? 24.12.9725?
were you able to run Cloud Backup | Local Backup…before?
LiveUpdate runs okay?
QuickScan runs okay?
have you tried Troubleshooting?
Live Update runs fine, as does QuickScan. I’m new to this version with Cloud Backup.
No, I haven’t tried Troubleshooting.
So, your v24 has never successfully run Cloud/Local Backup?
Can you run Local Backup when Sign’d In?
Did you migrate in-place from v22?
Or, was your Norton 360 v24 a clean install?
What security solution before Norton?
Are you Windows Admin user account?
Are you v24.12.9725?
W11? 23H2?
I’ve had Norton 360 for years, so the version I have now is what was automatically downloaded. I’ve been remiss in backups, and this is the first time I’ve tried using this version. I’m on Windows 10, 22H2. Norton 24.12.9725 (build 24.12.9725.903)
Yes, I’m the admin.
Hmm…so, other than Backup…Norton v24 seems okay…head scratch.
Will you try Troubleshooting?
I reset to the Norton defaults, rebooted, and now see under Local existing backups. But the only option is to restore an existing set. Since I did a reset, do I now have to recreate my backup sets? I did create a new set and I now see activity in Task Manager, as well as a spinning wheel.
I did manage to create a new set of just one folder (backup says .03 GB). The app seemed to be exceeding slow.
Backup to USB stick does not work/freezes in new 24 version.
After selecting the backup name and backup location, e.g. drive F, and then selecting the file/folder from the total path displayed, the selected file/folder appears on the following display. However, if you then click on the ‘Create backup’ button, nothing happens. The display turns gray and freezes …
troubleshooting with ‘reset to default’ as well as ‘Repair Norton’ has been done without success …
This I did and is well explained. After clicking ‘Create backup’ the display changes color into grey and freezes in … I try to add some screenshots hereto.
Hmm…head scratch…SanDisk 32GB thumb drive appears to work for me.
The above happened after I did troubleshooting by ‘reset to default’ and ‘Repair Norton’.
Before that troubleshooting it was only possible to select a single file. Selecting of folder or headfolders was not working at all. You had to click file by file in every folder. A useless undertaking.
did you already try clean install

do you want to revert back to v22?
Tks, bjm for continuous interest . Shall try the ‘Remove’ and shall revert.
