Windows 7 - 64bit
I recently encountered the Backup Error: Backup Failed: Encrypted Files Encountered
This error happened the first time I used a brand new 32Gb Flash Drive that I had purchased specifically for my Norton Backup.
The new flash drive came with a pre-loaded program called: "SanDiskSecureAccessV2.0" The program is a security vault used to encrypt and store sensitive information and files.
I did not use the program but instead, cut it from the flash drive and pasted to my it to my Hard Drive. I made certain to exclude it from both of my Norton Backup Sets. (I have since completely removed this program from my HD). I also ran a full, long format on the flash drive to make sure all traces of the security vault program had been removed.
Still, every time I run the the Norton Backup I get the same encrypted file encountered error. Even after re-running the backup with the two 16Gb flash drives I had been using prior to this error, (without any problems), I now get the same Back Up Failed - Encrypted File Encountered error with them.
I can find no encrypted files on my Hard Drive at all, much less ones that could be causing this problem.
Finally, if I haven't run a backup for a while, I get a big red warning on the Security Suite Main Menu informing me that I need to run the backup. After running the backup, even though it says the backup failed, the warning that I need to run the backup is no longer there, so I can't be sure if the backup was successful or not.
