What on earth has happened to the Backup in Norton 360?
It’s changed the files included in my backup jobs - adding loads of stuff I don’t want backing up and filling up my storage.
I deleted a backup job whilst trying to sort this out and now I can’t create a new one. Consequently, I’ve some important files where I’m running at risk as they aren’t being backed up.
I’ve got a load of old backup sets that I want to delete, but the only option is Restore.
The backup sets are online, however, they are greyed out. The only available options for them are Browse Files and Restore. There is no option to Manage.
However, the online option worked - thanks.
have you disabled Back up common file types only ?
Where is this option please?
If I go into Cloud Backup, I can only see existing backup sets - there’s no options.
I have managed to add the 3 key files into an existing backup set, so they are now being backed up, but they are now bundled in with a load of stuff that’s completely different, so they are not so visible.
It sounds like Norton 360’s Backup feature has taken a real nosedive lately. Automatically adding files you don’t want, taking up storage, and then not letting you create new backup jobs after deleting one? That’s a serious hassle, especially if it’s leaving important files unprotected. Not having a clear way to delete old backup sets and only being offered the “Restore” option just adds to the frustration. It feels like a fundamental feature that should prioritize user control has become overly complicated. Norton really needs to address these usability issues to restore trust in its Backup functionality—much like how maintaining quality in Subway premium subs keeps customers coming back.
If you are having a backup issue in Norton 360 then it can happen due to low storage, incorrect backup settings, outdated Norton 360 program, and others. So, you need to check all these points first if you want to complete the backup without facing any issues.
If your Norton 360 storage is ful,l then use the below steps to free up some space to complete the backup.
First, open the Norton security product.
Then go to the Security option.
Now, in the Security dashboard, go to the Cloud Backup tile and select Open.
Next, from the Cloud Backup window, choose any of the follow-up options-
Local Backup
Cloud Backup
You can choose the backup set you don’t need every day and choose the Manage icon/option.
After that, you should choose Settings.
Then, in the Delete Backup section, choose Delete.
Next, in the confirmation window, select Delete Backup.
Once the process is complete, select Done.
You may also need to delete backup sets from your account. In addition, seek more help if needed.
