In der Backup-Funktion erscheint die Option “Back up common file types only” nicht mehr vorhanden.
Ich kann dadurch z.B. meine Outlook PST-Dateien nicht mehr sichern.
Was ist denn da auf einmal los?

• Ja, dass ist richtig.
• Es gibt keine Fehlermeldungen.
• Es konnten insgesamt 35 Datein nicht mehr gesichert werden. Dazu gehören die bereits genannten Outlook-PST-Dateien, aber auch exe-Dateien (z.B. mein Druckertreiber). Das hat vorher alles wunderbar funktioniert.

Yes, that’s right.
There are no error messages.
A total of 35 files could no longer be backed up. These include the Outlook PST files already mentioned, but also exe files (e.g. my printer driver). Everything worked perfectly before.

Okay…just closed Norton support Chat session.
Support requested screenshots and for me to Send Logs.
I included link to this thread.
Issue as per Chat agent has been escalated.
Now, I’ll wait to see what/if any follow up.

Upon creating new v25 Local Backup. I’m able to back up my downloads folder.

~ maybe, Local Backup “Back up common file types only” was removed in preparation for v25. IDK

Norton support called me today mid-afternoon my time.
Norton agent questioned my version number and whether issue changed from v24.12 to v25.1
I advised the agent no change. I advised the agent that Local Backup → Settings → “Back up common file types only” remains missing.
Norton support wanted remote access. I declined. Norton ended call.

ich kann bestätigen, dass der Schalter “Back up common file types only” nach dem Update auf V25.1 weiterhin fehlt.
Es sieht aber allerdings bisher so aus, als würden alle von mit gewünschten Dateien tatsächlich wieder gesichert werden.
Schön wäre nun, dass die gesicherten Dateien wieder mit einem grünen Häckchen kenntlich gemacht werden könnten.

I can confirm that the switch “Back up common file types only” is still missing after the update to V25.1.
However, so far it looks as if all the files I wanted to back up are actually being backed up again.
It would be nice if the backed up files could be marked again with a green check mark.

So, now…all file types are backed up under Local.
It would be nice if Norton shared what they do…before they do…what they do.
It would nice not to have to reinstall Norton every time Norton does what they do…just to verify whether it’s a glitch or an official change.
