Bizarre chat support session on subscription renewal

Had two chat sessions about subscription renewal. Both agents offered Norton 360 Premium for 10 devices at offer price of $54.99/year.  Both then gave me a link to the 1st year subscription sales page for Deluxe with 5 licenses.  One then referred me to the bare buy.norton.com page, the other insisted I had to call Lifelock on the phone to deactivate my expired trial product code before they could process the order. Neither could provide a direct link to the actual offer.

Is this experience with Norton support typical these days?  Is there someone rational at Norton I can talk to about it?

i HAVE HAD A SIMILAR BIZARRE CONVERSATION WITH PHONE SUPPORT.  HAVE BEEN TRYING TO UPGRADE MY NORTON ACCOUNT WITH AN ONLINE OFFER FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS. THE PROCESS RETURNS A PAGE INDICATING I SHOULD CALL SUPPORT, THE TRANSACTION COULD NOT BE PROCESSED.  PHONE SUPPORT SAYS THAT BECAUSE I HAVE AN EXISTING LIFELOCK LEGACY ACCOUNT THE ACCOUNT CANNOT BE UPGRADED.  TO GET THE OFFERED UPGRADE I MUST CANCEL MY EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION AND PAY FULL PRICE FOR THE NEW.   NOT WHAT IS OFFERED ON THE WEBSITE DEAL.  ANYONE ELSE HAVE A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH UNREASONABLE EXPLANATION OF WHY THE OFFER WILL NOT BE HONORED AS ADVERTIZED?

How did you contact Norton Support? From within your current Norton product, or your Norton Account? Or did you do an internet search? Internet searche results usually highlight non-genuine Norton support sources, from companies that support many different products.
