Blocked websites

My son is trying to get into Brazzers or Fling. Online Family Norton says shows the site name as “peertracking”. Why is this? And I am not sure whether it is being blocked as it also says that he has viewed the site numerously and one site 38 times. Can you please advise.

Both of those sites are rated as pornography.

I have not heard of "peertracking", can you post a screen shot of this?

If you have the "pornography" category checked, it will be blocked.

Post a screen shot of your activity view and we should be able to help, if you don't feel comfortable posting that information, please use my office email address located in my profile.

Hi

We believe that he is going into file sharing sites using Frostwire and downloading pornographic pictures and videos. Not sure exactly how. I tried rapidlibrary.com and fastdownloadarchive.com. These came up with a number of porn downloads none of which were blocked by OnlineFamily. I have since blocked these sites. Peertracking.com comes up as a blocked site when the downloaded video is opened for viewing. He can however view the downloaded video.

We have now blocked access to all file sharing sites. Not sure if this will work. We thought he was using this for music. Your help would be appreciated.

David,

You are doing the right thing, in my opinion. Keeping up with what your child is doing, that is definitely the first step.

Some sites, especially "file sharing" sites are difficult to track at the per file level. Some of these sites have legitimate content that kids may want to download, however they make no difference between the good and bad. Similar issues happen with YouTube, however they rate their own content and force uses to do an age verification, which would be blocked by our software.

If you feel and others do as well that sites such as rapidlibrary and fastdownloadarchive should be rated differently, there is a dispute category button that you can use to add more categories to the current ones.

The 2 original addresses you gave me were definitely porn though.

Thanks Matt - I have disputed the two sites as suggested. Would it be of any benefit to provide you with a copy of the screen as previously suggested?

Cheers

David

You can if you like however it appears the software is doing as expected and you have done the necessary steps to both block (by adding the peer sharing category to the block category list) and by sending your category requests.
