Blocking emails

Please - is there some way to block emails from entering altogether? Not

even into the junk folder. Something based on words, as after 1000 emails

on Ukrainian Girlfiend or another 1000 on Asian Girlfriend - I think I get the idea.

Hi Hasty,

Emails marked as spam are supposed to be put in the Junk folder or the Norton Antispam folder.  Any antispam program will have some percentage of legitimate messages that are mistakenly classified as spam.  You certainly don't want some important message being accidentally deleted sight unseen, so it is always a good idea to send suspected spam to a special folder where you can review the messages before permanently discarding them.

Thanks for your reply, it's not just spam , there are certain emails I would like to block, these I mark as spam, which Norton then moves to the blocked folder, but they still appear in my emails.

The best way to handle particular kinds of email is to create message rules in your email client.  You can specify the characteristics of the emails you want to filter and choose what you would like your email program to do with messages that match your criteria.

Create a filter on the subject line to route to the spam folder.

Just click on a email you wish to block from the sender and navigate to the three dots that are vertical, this time, click on them, and then click ‘Block sender’.

You never want to block emails entirely.  There is too much chance of something legitimate and important disappearing forever without you ever knowing it was sent.  Moving things to the Junk Folder and reviewing the contents occasionally is the best practice.

You cannot stop email from being sent to your inbox. All you can do is manage/filter it once it gets there.

If the amount of junk email gets out of hand, you will have to abandon that email address and start using a new one.
