Blocking individual applications and Components NIS 2010

I used to use Zone Alarm Internet Security suite and could block any application from connecting and sending outbound, how do I set this in NIS 2010? Am I deciding what I choose to block or is Norton choosing that FOR me? With ZA I could simply right click a program or component and choose block.

Looked in the settings, but couldn't find.

but can I block certain components of that program? take corel paint shop Pro ultimate for example, I like to use it and used to block the PSIservice built into the program from accessing the internet but still liked to run the program. is there an advanced setup for that in NIS 2010 or is it one for all regardless of what the PC user wants? What if I want to block MS components, but not the complete MS OS?

I hadd it set so everytime a program or component wanted access it had to ask ME each Time. I enjoyed having control over my system like that and could keep an eye on what programs were doing what.

If you want to disable a particular component, you can add it’s associated executable file to the Program Rules and then Block it. When you block a program in Program Rules, you are just blocking it’s access to outside network. This won’t block the program from running.
