Hi Peter,

Thanks for taking interest.

When bluesscreen occurs..It shuts down the PC after 20 - 25 sec.

On top it says BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER.

Unfortunately i am unable to see anything else unless the countdown saying preparing dump file or something.

I am sorry i am unable to give you detailed information as everything happens so quickely.

Hope to get a reply on this.

Thanks.

Hi amitcolors,

Please see if changing the following setting assists you in being able to read the BSOD screen:

start-->control panel-->system--> advanced system settings > advanced tab -->click 'settings' under startup and recovery -- >uncheck the box to 'automatically restart' under system failure section.

This may help to locate the reason for the BSOD issue.  "BlueScreenView"  is a tool that will display detailed information about the BSOD occurrences. Here's the link to the tool site where you can download the tool:

 BlueScreenView

Once the tool is launched, you can click on a line of information and google the error for detailed information.

Hello Guys,

Tried to get details by running Bluscreenview.

It says the crash caused by -- usbhub.sys---

I have attached the image below.

Note : This happens regularly after installing NORTON 360..If i uninstall norton things are normally fine.

Any ways to solve this ?

Below is the screen ,

Hi,

I'm afraid that it could be a HDD failure. (usbhub.sys)

It might need to be replaced.

Are you able to boot and run a checkdisk or your OS doesn't boot at all??

Regards,

I can run check disk..I run it and it said "Volume is Clean" ,

Below is the report generated from Event Viewer..Results are at the end of the report. Is it helpful to determine the cause ?

Hi,

Try this:  http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/269253-bsod-error-usbhub-sys.html

& this:     http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/200439-new-pc-bsod-shutdown-0x000007e-usbhub-sys-2.html

Read with caution before applying.

What VAIO model do u have, and what Sony software installed?

Try also to remove all USB devices, boot, and plug one by one.

See what happens.

Regards,

I've suffered from the same "blue screen" problems in the past.  I un-installed Norton 360 three weeks ago, and my Windows 7 HP DV7 has run wonderfullly.  Tonight, I took a chance and intalled Norton 360....again.  Within 15 minutes, my laptop found its way to the blue screen of death.  Help.

Have you recently installed or do you have a printer driver or something similiar connected to your computer that sometimes seems to give you trouble?.........Gorpy1
