System: Windows 7
Browser: Usually Firefox but rarely Chrome if something comes up automatically
Norton Product: Norton Internet Security
About 2 weeks ago Firefox and/or Norton updated a patch as far as I can remember. I was pretty sure it was legit but since then I've been worried, hopefully I didn't get anything buggy. But anyway, whenever that patch downloaded, my Norton shut-off and I had to open it back up. Since then, I've been getting spammed with many medium security alerts, attempting to open Norton folders (and getting blocked) and sometimes trying to reset registry keys on my system (and getting blocked). There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when these security threats are occurring; sometimes I can browse or be idle and go 12 hours without getting one. Other times, I will receive 1 alert, and then another one awhile later. And other times, I get 50 of them in 1 minute time-span. And then again 30 minutes later. And then again 4 hours later. Sleeping, browsing, it's all random.
I'm not sure if I was getting these before, although I don't think so. Additionally, whenever I do full scans now, nothing shows up. I used to always get tracking cookies or whatever, and Norton would tell me they were removed at the end of scans. Now whenever I scan, I don't even get those anymore.
There are also some other curious "info" reports on resetting of my internet connection. I hope I'm just being overly worried about this and everything is standard, but who knows.
Can anyone qualified please help me? Thanks!
