Bootable recovery tool

The Bootable recovery tool is asking for a pin in order to proceed. The directions say it is on the CD jacket, it is not. It is also not on the product key card that was in the package.

Anyone have any idea what i am supposed to do to get this pin

I think that indicates it does not find a licenced Norton product on the drive it is looking at and it would want the activation KEY from that product.

Are you using the installation CD as a bootable recovery disk or have you downloaded one?

What Norton product is that you have? Is it Norton 360 which this Forum deals with or Norton Internet Security or Norton AntiVirus?

Do you have the retail/preinstalled one or the one from your Internet service provider (e.g., Comcast and EarthLink; uses PIN)? If you downloaded this tool, then be sure you downloaded and installed the correct one since there are two different ones (one for PIN (Internet service provider) and the other for key (retail)). See http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/nbrt.aspx for the details.

That's basically  what I said on the 29th of December - why repeat it?  :smileywink:

Hi sovt,

Kindly contact your ISP for the activation PIN. You may also find the activation PIN in your confirmation email message from your ISP.

Hope this helps.
