I have had this on my PC for a while.
but have been reading that it comes with a Trogen
There are lots of advice on the net to delete this
but thought that PC Tools brought this in and Norton bought it off PC Tools
Thoughts?

Hi,
Not sure about the exact product but names have been cloned in the past to provide a means of doing just what this product was trying to do. Also, any other product with an active, realtime scanner is going to be seen as a threat by Norton products. The law of physics also applies to computer programming - no two can occupy the same place at the same time.

Norton Internet Security: Is something called "Browser Defender" part of NIS? MalawareBytes picked it up as a virus.
Hi Nclegeorge
I just want to say I’m no expert in computer or malware infections but I some research into this program and found a couple of links which will hopefully help and give you a insight.

Hi, Nclegeorge. Browser Defender is a pup, and a browser hijacker. If Norton's Full Scan doesn't pick it up, I suggest you run a full scan with MalwareBytes Free edition.
Don't use the Pro version, as it also has real time protection.
Let us know how you get on.
If MalwareBytes doesn't detect and quarantine it, we can recommend some free malware removal sites.
Thanks to all getting rid of Defender seems to have worked
