Browser Protection Failure/Error Message won't fix

Hi, I'm having an issue with my Norton I've never encountered before. I got an "at risk" warning and when I hit "fix now" it did it's little dance then said it failed to fix the problem which was identified as a "browser protection error". I ran LiveUpdate and tried again but got the same result. It prompted me to do the one-click support but that resulted in an error message I've never seen before which is "An error has occurred within Norton Internet Security: 3040,20063".

Anyone have any idea what to do?

Please advise the status of your issue

Error: "3040,20063" appears on my Norton 2011 product

Thanks

Hi.... new to this forum but I think I can help here....

I encountered exactly the same problem a couple of days ago with NIS 2011!

I ended up working with a tekkie on "live-chat" , who remotely downloaded Norton Removal Tool, then , ,

  1. uninstalled my product
  2. cleared all computer temp files
  3. rebooted
  4. performed re-installation of NIS 2011 (from inserted CD),

This took a good while but once done, my system has been running smooth since.

It turns out that some of NIS 2011 had become corrupted after upgrade from 2010 to 2011.

Hope this helps..:smileyhappy::smileywink:
