I'm using Norton Internet Security on Win 7 64. This past Tuesday (same time as MS updates) Chrome stopped working, it would just hang and be unresponsive. Same thing with IE and Firefox as well. I tried disabling features in NIS to no avail. Then I used msconfig to disable NIS and after reboot Chrome worked again for about a minute. It seems NIS was starting up anyway. So I booted into safe mode and renamed nis.exe to something else to completely disable NIS. Now I have a working machine again but no NIS. Is the next step to completely remove NIS and reinstall? And, is this done by using uninstall option in Programs and Features or do I need to use the special tool? Thanks for any tips. - Bill
