BSOD after Norton Security update

I know there has been some activity on this type of error but wanted to relay my experiences. My sister's Gateway (with Vista SP2) started having a BSOD a short while ago when switching from one user to another. The Error was "PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES". On further investigation I confirmed that the driver causing the shutdown was BHDrvx86.sys, and that it was a Norton File, and had as its latest version the date 3/21/13, coincidentally approximately the same time the trouble started. As I could find no other solution to the error I uninstalled Norton. The problem was resolved, no more BSOD, but also no more Norton. (She had the Comcast version). So now I am wondering what to do next. Try to reinstall the Norton program, or go with something else? I haven't been able to find any real workaround to this that involves keeping Norton IS installed.
