my desktop (VISTA) start to get BSOD in the morning. Lucky I have another machine (WinXP) for backup and was able to get some work done and post this. Both have 360 installed.
I was able to restart 2nd time but before I even login I got another BSOD. So I tried Safemode that seem not effect by BSOD. Anyway,I figure I will restart from previous starting point roll back to 1/14. I also did "Clean startup". basiclly remove all the services none MS. I seem to be able to login and work maybe 3-15 minutes without BSOD. seems random...
I do have the minidump, I can't attach here. I download the "BlueScreenView" there are 4 pink rows.
NAVENG.sys, ntkrnlpa.exe, SRTSP.SYS and SYMEVENT.SYS
I am considering reinstall 360 but want to make sure before I spend another 1/2 day on this.

finally got the chkdsk done. still have BSOD, now I also got Memory_management.. I download and installed Bluescreenviewer. had to do it in the safemode. see page 2 of the my pdf.
If you want to reinstall your 360 to see if that will help, you need to decide whether you want to stay with the version 6.4.x.x. or upgrade to the newest version 20 (2013).
For now I would suggest staying with your current version until we find out what is causing your problem.
Download the Norton Removal Tool from here www.norton.com/nrt Download the appropriate version of your N360 Standard edition from www.norton.com/n360s_6 or Premier edition from www.norton.com/n360p_6 If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format for compatibility. Uninstall your Norton product with Windows control panel.
Reboot. Run the Norton Removal Tool. Reboot. Run the N360 installer. Click on Settings - Updates. Then turn off the option for Automatic Download of New Version. Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available. Try to log into your Identity Safe. If you can, you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.
can I run uninstall and remove in safe mode? Because in the normal mode it'll have blue screen (very unstable) every 5-15 minutes. sometimes seem to go for a while and POP, blue screen. it's like a bad joke :-(
I just re read the thread and think you should run a memory diagnostic.
Boot into safe mode and from the start button search for Windows Memory Diagnostics. Run that a couple of times to check your memory. If it finds a problem, you will need to open your computer case and remove the memory modules and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, and re seat the memory modules. Then run the diagnostic again.
I ran it 1 time (standard scan) but still got blue screen. open the case and blow some dust out, vacccum the fan's area. yes I did the RAM too. clean and reseat. I have two stick of RAM (each 1GB).
2nd try F8 to "safe mode with network". Was able to surf the net for about 15minutes with blue screen. start the Windows Memory Diagnostics (F2) to select extended. it took a while so I left the house return to found "Memory_Management" blue screen.
any other suggestion?
In the mean time I am going to take one stick of RAM out. maybe it's the bad ram?
if this still doesn't work I guess I can try reinstall.
If it is blue screening in safe mode, there would seem to be a hardware problem.
Your suggestion of removing one of the RAM sticks was going to be my first suggestion. If things work properly with one, take that out and install the second on its' own and test.
You could also check your Device Manager to see if any other devices are reported as having issues.
NO blue screen in the safe mode. That was why I did not remove the memory the first place, I can surf web in safe mode with network. I really think some app at the start up. since I saw Norton/ Adobe and windows update... so I rollback the windows update... didn't help, remove adobe didn't help. I have not remove 360 yet. maybe affter remove one of the RAM.
I am running chkdsk one more time before I remove one of the RAM stick.
I finally realize it's not my RAM or disk issue. uninstall Norton 360. Normal boot works now. but when I try to reinstall and restart again I can't get on the network. I can't win.
anyway I did uninstall again... and network back. I would hate to keep this workstation nake... I have two other workstation that uses Norton 360 without issue... this Vista (the newer of 3) just doesn't like Norton
but the good news is I don't have blue screen anymore. a step forward.
