Yeah, thx for information, mijcar, but I’m well used to and aware of those possibilities and this bug is not that. I’ve tried many, many times to confirm what I’ve described in my first post. It’s behaving in a way it shouldn’t; bugging, acting odd. Have you tested what I described yourself, and what result did you get? I’m sure you’ve run the final NIS version for a long time to have scan results of a quick idle-scan lying around.
Raven, the only places I have "+/-" options are on the config menus.
On the "total items scanned" and that page, there is an indicator ">>" that you can "click down" on to instantly drop the menu. I have no problems with that on my computer at all, not even first usage.
Okay, I’ll take a screenshot of my own window here to show you. EDIT:
I’ve detected the bug that when you try to collapse/un-collapse one of the lists by clicking on the “+/-” (e.g. ‘Total items scanned’ or ‘Total Security Risks Detected’) the first time, it’ll immediately do the opposite - depending on if it’s in a collapsed or un-collapsed state obviously and on how long you hold the mouse-button. As long as you hold the mouse-button pressed it’ll not do the opposite. The times post the first one on the same list it’ll act normally, but clicking on another list will result in the same, odd behaviour getting repeated. I’m running a fresh installation of Windows XP Professional SP3 and the software is NIS09 b125. Don’t hesitate to ask for more information if you need it. Regards, RMD
Raven, this may not be what is happening with you, but it has happened with me.
During times of high cpu usage, the +/- tab does not respond quickly. This leads to two seemingly odd possibilities:
1. If you click on the + and nothing happens, then click on it again, after a time, it will suddenly pop down then up again.
2. If you click on the + then try to get a response elsewhere, nothing will happen. This seems to be that when the software is ready to respond, it only grabs the last mouse action. Clicking anywhere else (even dead space) after the click on the + will negate the click on the + and you will not see any response.
Additionally, there is the following.
3. If you click on the +, hold the key down, then move it else without releasing the key, the click will not register. This is because programmers have an option about a key response. The software can respond to a downclick or the release of the downclick. The former is more immediately responsive but it doesn't allow a user to correct a slip of the finger. Most programmers opt for the second choice. Interestingly, MS uses the first strategy in its Windows Explorer Bar.
