Watch out for freeware that gives you more than you asked for.I downloaded a file viewer program from CNET freeware site and got a bunch of crapware with it. It installed a Yahoo toolbar i didn't want and actually changed my registry by putting a 0 instead of a 1 disabling my google auto update setting saying "updates are disabled per administrator" I know this because i am the administrator and i didn't change it. I had to go to regedit.exe and then going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\policies\google and double-click on updatedefault or defaultupdate (worded one way or another depends on your computer) folder and change the 0 to a 1, and it was fixed. Has Anyone else encountered this problem? If so please let us all know! I didn't know that the setting was even changed, until i heard about version 32.0 coming out and then wondering why i was NOT updated. Anyway I hope this helps someone, because it totally aggravated me until i figured out my registry was tampered with.
