Hi there,
I recently got my hands on a new MacBook Air as a replacement for a PC that's nearing the end of its life. I have Norton 360 installed on it, with about 40 days subscription left. Can I, and if so how, transfer the license from the PC (Windows XP) to the Mac (OS X Lion)?
If it can't be done, do you offer a discount for repeat customers, even though it would mean ending the PC subscription and starting anew for the Mac?
Thanks,
Land of Oz
Hi, Land_of_Oz,
Ordinarily, I suspect the answer would be no: prrroducts for different operating systems are different products, and thus carry different licenses. And there certainly are no "repeat customer" discounts--more's the pity, since I just shelled out $64 to get Norton Mobile Security for my smartphone and my tablet after having been a Norton customer for over twenty years, who still maintains a subscription for Norton 360 Premier! LOL
However...since you are talking about replacing one computer with another (something I know they regularly free up installs for users to do)...it might be worthwhile for you to get in touch with the helpful folks of Norton's Live Chat customer support staff, and see if there's anything they can do for you.
I can't guarantee anything--one, I don't know, and two, I'm not a Symantec employee or spokesman, just a volunteer like most folks here. But it can't hurt to ask.
