Can you use Comodo Firewall with D+ and Sandbox with Norton AV?

I have been wondering this today but I'm not sure if It would cause any conflicts. I remember watching Norton vs Comodo videos on Youtube and Norton would always have something slip by and cause it to stop working, get uninstalled by malware or cause the PC to not be able to work because of malware slipping buy it. Would it be possible to have Comodo's HIPS/sandbox to protect Norton and the PC from the malware that can cause such harm? Or would there be conflicts between the 2 software programs?

There would diffidently be some conflicts between the two software but you could adjust them to work together; whether the results satisfy you would be a personal judgment call.  Most likely, you would need to disable SONAR in Norton or Defense+ / Sandbox in COMODO as the two would fight each other.  COMODO has an excellent forum (here) that can answer many questions about using their products with other security software.

I have asked there. Didn't get a responce which would say if its a go or not. So I asked here.

A lot depends on your personal level of computer expertse too .Unless you are totally and absolutely familiar with advanced configuration of software options ....I strongly suggest you leave well alone in that area :smileywink:

The Norton program structure will use different procedure calls that do not match the Comodo processes .The running of conflicting "real time " processes is not to be recommended !

Attempting to manipulate these functions will run an exceedingly high risk of reducing the effectiveness of your overall protection status    !

Instead of adding an extra layer of protection .....the real time conflicts generated by such an exercise is more than likely going to lead to a severe compromise to the effectiveness of your levels of protection !

If you venture in that direction ....you really do run an elevated risk of reducing your levels of security , rather than enhancing it !

In my opinion Dan...........you proceed into dangerous territory if you take that course ....Be careful :smileyindifferent:

Ok, it was just an idea I had floating around my head thats all. :)
