Cannot access shared drive (Samba) that is located on my default router, after installing NIS2011

Hi.

I have a Linux router (with NAT) in my network (192.168.6.1). The same machine also has a Samba server and shares a drive to all my computers inside my network. Howere, after installing NIS 2011 I can no longer access that shared drive.

When I go to Settings -> Network Settings and click "Trust Control", I don't see my 192.168.6.1 machine in there. When I try to add it (using the plus sign below the "Total in Network") and type the IP address, it says that this computer is already in my network. But it isn't showing in NIS!

I suspect NIS 2011 considers my router as some special machine, and doesn't allow sharing drives with it. How to remedy this? Even if I turn "Smart Firewall" off, it still doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure it needs to be a Class C network.

Your router with the .6 octet looks odd.

Is that subnetted at 255.255.255.0?

Hi cadcadcad,

The "Trust Control" category only includes devices that you have added manually.  Use the dropdown list under "Network Details" in the Network Security Map to check for the network name or "Local Network."  The device should be listed there if Norton has already automatically included it in the network.
