Because of some virus/malware I though I have removed, I cannot update NAV.  It will not allow me to go to symantec.com.  The 'virus' also stops me from running Firefox.  I renamed firefox.exe to ff.exe and I get it to run successfully and go anywhere I want except for Symantec.  I get an LU1814 error when I try to do an update.  The last autoupdate ran 6/30.

SPYBOT removed the virus causing me a bunch of trouble.  The starting of FireFox is a problem.  I can remember if it stops me from running IE or not .

Suggestions

I would first recommend that you follow the steps listed in the How To Troubleshoot a Suspected Malware Infection announcement, and if any malware is found, you may wish to note it first, then remove it from your system. Afterward, you might also search the Symantec website for fixtools or directions to clean up this specific threat.
