I’m trying to install Norton Internet security on my Acer Aspire 5100 (windows SP3) with no success (I successfully installed on my other 2 pc, 1 laptop and one desktop, and I’m very happy with the suite, better than Kaspersrky IMHO). But I can’t buy it if I don’t fix this problem…
I downloaded Norton from the Symantec web-site and when I launch the installer everything looks fine. Then the software starts a scan, then starts installing few files, then creates error logs and finally a message informing that the installation is not finished, a cleanup of the system has been performed, please reboot the system and try again. When I reboot the system, nothing has been installed and nothing else happens.
I tried multiple times with the same result. I can’t find the error log files.
I used the Norton removal tool many time before reinstall.
I never had any previous Norton AV installed. I had Kaspesrky Internet Security 2009 uninstalled without errors. I don’t have any third party firewall installed. I disconnected most of the USB connections.
