Issue abstract: Cannot login to icloud with icloud app on Windows 11 PC
Detailed description:
I uninstalled and reinstalled icloud on my Windows 11 PC. Although Icloud is listed as allowed. I am still unable to login to my icloud account. I have disabled Norton while attempting to login to my icloud account. Still will not authenticate from PC that has Norton 360. Icloud and itunes are both on the allowed list in firewall. Itunes functionality is limited and cannot sync apple devices. The two factor pin request comes through icloud app and then login fails.
Product & version number: Norton 360 Premium 22.24.7.8
OS details: Windows 11
What is the error message you are seeing? No longer seeing authentication failure message. Now system just returns to login screen for icloud.

Why did you reinstall iCloud? Did you start having the login issues before the reinstall?
What features did you disable for your testing?
Are you using a VPN or an ad blocker browser extension while trying to to login? If so, try turning both off for the iCloud login to see if that makes any difference.

I had extra iCloud listings in the “all apps list” clicked uninstall and it uninstalled all. So I was trying to do some cleanup on my system.

I disabled all features.

No I am not using VPN or ad blocker browser extension while trying to login.
Issue was resolved when I went to task manager and looked for apple related processes and ended the task. Once I did that the login worked like a champ.
Thank you for your response. I took your advice and uninstalled my Norton, however after taking that step and contacting apple I found that it was not necessary. The apple support agent had me go to the task manager and “end task” to any apple process that was running. Once I did that then the login worked.
Good find. Thanks for posting back.
What specific Apple process did you find and end?
