Cannot open GUI due to "Norton Security stopped responding" messages

Norton Security crashes each time I run the GUI, with Norton Security stopped responding message, even after removal and reinstall of the product.

The error I get in the Windows 7 (32bit) event viewer for these crashes is :

- Since removal and reinstall of the product doesn't help, can you please suggest any other solution for this problem ?
