Cannot Restore Files from Norton Online Backup using Norton 360 or from https://nobu.backup.com/

The hard drive failed on my computer failed. After replacing it, I have been trying to restore my files from the backup set online. I keep getting the same message that 'Some of your files could not be restored. Please try again later'. I have tried selecting individual files from the backup website and same error. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wesley - I have similar issue with restore..my laptop on which I had Norton Online backup setup has crashed..I have new laptop now and I am restoring files from backup..and restore constantly fails with error W404..

Sorry to say but your tech support team is quite incompetent and have not absolutey NO clue as to what product does...one tech support even told me you cannot restore files from backup to a new laptop...I had to tell him...you can..

So if you are person incharge for Norton Online Backup and are responsible enough then appreciate if you can reach out to me at [removed] email id..and offer some competent person who can look into issue..I have been struggling for last 3 days with no outcome..

I guess a Online backup company or software is as good as it can enable restore files not...how good you can backup only..

Hello bvirani,

I'm sorry support is making this difficult. That particular error is a communications error. It's not able to properly access the last backup made. In order to help confirm if this is an overall issue with that particular backup or the entire data set we can access an older date. Try this please and let me know how it goes.

  1. Log on to Norton Online Backup.
  2. The home page lists all the computers that are available on your Norton Online Backup.
  3. On the home page, click File Actions that corresponds to the picture icon of a computer, and then select Restore Files. The Restore Files page will appear.
  4. Click View Options.
  5. From the To drop-down list, select the computer to which you want to restore files.
  6. Select Place Files in the "Restored Files" folder on your desktop.
  7. Under Backed Up On, select a different date to restore.
  8. Under FOLDERS, navigate to the folder that contains the files that you want to restore.
  9. The backup folder structure represents the same folder structure as in your computer. Do one of the following:

To restore a specific file, under FILES, check the file that you want to restore.

To restore all files, click SELECT ALL.

9.  Click RESTORE NOW.

I am having the same problem.  I tried restoring my 2.8 GB of data for several days with multiple failures.  I have tried even the most basic function, and Nobu will not even restore an INDIVIDUAL FILE.  I have read several threads and I am incredulous that Norton considers such slow, unreliable performance for one of its products to be normal and acceptable, especially one so critical to customers.  I need for Norton to provide me with a reliable procedure to restore my files in a reasonable time. ASAP.

Andrew
