In Norton 360, I selected Tasks, then Run Scans, then chose Custom Scan in the Computer Scan section. On the next screen, Full System Scan was already ticked, and I clicked on Run.
I was expecting the scan to start at this point, but instead the Tasks menu screen re-appeared, and no scannig seems to have been done.
I've tried shutting and restarting Norton 360, but it made no difference.
I was able to run a full scan a week ago, but I can't remember exactly how I got it started.
In case it helps, I'm using Windows 8, on a new laptop - Norton 360 was installed about a week ago.
Hi Yank - thanks - I should have pointed out that it was on mains power (and the settings say that scans should take place anyway, whether on mains or battery power).
I restarted the laptop and tried again, and this time the scan did start. Hopefully it was just a one-off glitch - I'll look for help again if it happens frequently.
Have you checked your instalation by going to Support > Get Support > let it update and then scan your system and seeif it finds/fixes anything.
Also please tell us if you have any other AV/security [program which may be runninging real-time on your system, as well as your previous AV product. Is N 360 a new install andplease tell us the version umber (Support > About), if upgrade from a previous version or what.
