I've got some problem with NIS2013 (20.2.0.19 to be exact) on Windows 8 Pro (retail version). When I log in to my computer everything works fine - I can open every window, check settings etc. After few hours of working on computer I can't open settings window - rest of them (like performance, scanning, LiveUpdate or advance - names can't be different in official English version - I'm using Polish version) works just fine. There were no errors (exept one - when Windows could not "see" NIS, but after one of the updates problem disappeared), no crashes, program was installed correctly.

Welcome
There are still some teething pains with Windows 8, so not sure if it is Windows or Norton.
Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.
Also, be sure to continue to run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
I've tried AutoFix - there are no errors. I run LiveUpdate manually all the time. I guess I'll wait for the next update of Norton and watch if the problem continue. Thank You for answer.
This has to be a bug. I have 3 computers all running windows 8 64 bit with norton 2013 and all three systems have this issue. Everytime I start my computer up, I have to log out and log back in again to get settings to open and be able to run scans.
Does anyone know of a solution to this? Is Symantec looking into this bug?

Did you try panther's suggestion to uninstall Norton Studio? Not really a solution, but a temporary work around.
