Trying to get support on the community feedback since Norton support is non-existent. Just let the community help and absolve yourself of responsibility of support?
I cannot post a screen capture to explain the situation. There is an upload option but it then tells me I cannot upload a media file? How else can I have any hope of any form of support with being able to describe the issue?
Still cannot upload an image. Getting message: “An error occurred: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.”
Please help, very frustrating that I cannot get direct support and must rely on the “community” but then I can’t even post anything to support the question I am asking.
Hello @David_Lovelace
You’ve cycled browser?
You’ve tried another browser?
You’ve tried clearing browser cache n cookies?
Please try uploading image to https://postimages.org/
Please try copy Direct link: and paste (space characters after dot - before Reply to break link) with your message.
What file type are you trying to upload? Is it an image or a video file? Maybe videos are not accepted??? These are the file types accepted for upload…
Just tried again, I have tried both a JPG and a PNG file. I will try the “work around” in the earlier post to upload to a 3rd party site then post the link.
But this leads to the question why does the support post message offer this feature and it not work? How can Norton expect the “community” support to work if you cannot post images?
Also, in response to the earlier message, YES, I have tried with different browsers (Firefox, Edge, and Chrome) and even with different browsers on another OS (Linux) and none of these worked.
Let’s see if the round about method of first posting to postimage and then linking to the image works. Here goes: [Preformatted text](https://i.postimg.cc/SR2w8cqR/Untitled-1.jpg)
Everyone: With the exception of new users having to attain the basic level trust before being able to post screenshots the ability has been corrected for some time now. Give it a try. Here are instructions for posting screenshots.
Now, why does this not work until a user complains? Posting an image of the issue is very, very helpful and should be a capability available to all users since we are defaulted to relying on the community rather than an organized support system.
This is a new forum platform that is still going through teething pains. Has only been live for a couple of months now. The forum gurus flagged this as soon as it was noticed.
