This happens every year with Norton. I'm fed up and looking for another virus protection product. Here are the latest details.
Message that i will be automatically renewed. (Since my credit card info is not valid anymore, i decide that i want to opt out of auto renew and renew manually. I am afraid to give Norton my new credit card number because they seem to think it's a license to keep renewing my subscription forever.) Last time and the time before, i was double billed because my wife manually renewed, and i was the one that got the auto renew notices. Only a phone call sorted it out.
Back to this time. The auto renew notice said to cancel, i must log into my account and on the left menu would be an option to de-subscribe from the handy dandy auto-renew feature.
Huh?! It wasn't there. Someone must have forgot to put it there. So i went online and did a chat with one of the tech people. She sorted the problem out and cancelled my auto-renew subscription from her end. Supposedly.
I then waited to see if it was the case. I was also getting my reminder to manually renew every day, so i knew Norton wouldn't forget about me. Well ... sure enough, this morning, I got a message saying that my credit card info wasn't up to date, so i couldn't be automatically renewed. What? And to think i was almost about to manually renew my 360.
So that's it. I am done with Symantic. The software may be good, but until they start treating me and my money with respect, i will have nothing further to do with them. If enough people complain, maybe they will change ... but i have been hearing this complaint for years ... so i think the bottom line is that tricking their customers results in more profit.
Anyone else have this issue?
