Can't sync with MS ActiveSync with firewall enabled

I have Norton 360 v2.0 and MS ActiveSync 4.5 and Windows Mobile on a phone/pda.  I used 2008 with no problems.  I bought 2009 and installed it.  Now I can’t sync with the phone. ActiveSync can’t connect.  If I disable the firewall and reconnect the phone things work fine.  I have been on line with tech support with no luck.  Any ideas?
