Hello
I'm facing the same problem as the one described in that (locked) thread Norton Bootable Recovery Tool (NBRT): USB stick does not boot
Others similar posts have been asking for help for the same issue.
Unfortunately none had received any response.
Using a DVD instead of a bootable USB stick created using Rufus I've been able to boot my main computer with the utility (but I've no DVD reader on my other computers)
Once booted, I've another issue. The utility states that it uses outdated virus definition files (2020)
However, the utility buit-il help states:
Norton Bootable Recovery Tool automatically downloads and updates the latest virus definitions from the Symantec servers when you initiate the scan and connected to the Internet. The latest virus definitions helps you secure your computer from the latest viruses and security threats.
If the virus definitions are out of date, Norton Bootable Recovery Tool may not detect and remove all the latest security threats from your computer.
Note:
If you use Static IP address to connect to the Internet, configure the IP address using the Network Manager to update the latest virus definitions. If you are using a proxy configuration or server you may not be able to connect to the Internet.
Problem is that I've not been able to find how to "configure the IP address using the Network Manager" in the recovery environnement."
Anyone knows where that procedure is described?
